As part of the ongoing centenary celebrations, Howrah Division of Eastern Railway organized a series of community-focused programs, reflecting a spirit of service and responsibility under the leadership of Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Sanjeev Kumar.
On 28th April, 2025, at Bolpur Station, railway staff participated in a vibrant Prabhat Pheri (morning procession) to spread awareness about the proud legacy of the Howrah Division. The procession was followed by a dedicated cleanliness drive at the station premises, reaffirming Indian Railways’ commitment to hygiene and the ideals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
Simultaneously, a Prabhat Pheri was also organized at Telkol Ghat, with enthusiastic participation from railway employees and local volunteers. In addition to the awareness procession, a tree plantation drive was undertaken, symbolizing the Division’s commitment to environmental sustainability and green initiatives. The event concluded with an intensive cleanliness campaign to improve local surroundings and encourage greater community involvement in maintaining public spaces.
These initiatives serve as a meaningful tribute to the 100 years of dedicated service by Howrah Division, showcasing Indian Railways’ enduring values of discipline, environmental stewardship, and public engagement. The centenary celebrations continue to inspire a shared vision for a cleaner, greener, and more connected future.
