Shri Sumeet Singhal, Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), NF Circle inspected the Esplanade-Sealdah section of Green Line on April 27, 2025 by undertaking detailed inspection of all the sub-systems, viz., track, tunnel, tunnel ventilation, train, emergency response features of Metro train operation; a pre-requisite for opening of any Metro section for passenger services.

Shri Anuj Mittal, MD KMRCL & Principal Chief Engineer/Metro Railway and other high-level officials of Metro Railway and KMRCL accompanied CRS during this inspection.

CRS expressed satisfaction on the readiness of the completed section for passenger service.

On receipt of the formal sanction of the CRS, commissioning of entire 16.55-KM length of Green Line from Salt Lake Sector V to Howrah Maidan will be planned.
