SCR Achieves Best-Ever Performance in Freight Business for FY 2024-25

South Central Railway (SCR) has recorded its best-ever performance in freight business for the financial year 2024-25, surpassing its previous highest figures from 2023-24.

  • Freight Loading: 144.140 Million Tonnes (MTs), a 2% increase from 141.120 MTs in 2023-24.
  • Freight Revenue: ₹13,825 Crores, a 2% rise from ₹13,620 Crores in 2023-24.

This achievement is attributed to effective teamwork, enhanced freight infrastructure, and proactive customer engagement. SCR has been focusing on expanding its freight portfolio, improving goods sheds, and ensuring seamless coordination with freight customers to meet their requirements efficiently.

  • Coal: 70.147 MTs (vs 70.510 MTs)
  • Cement & Clinker: 37.604 MTs (vs 36.47 MTs)
  • Fertilizers: 7.343 MTs (vs 7.400 MTs)
  • Foodgrains: 6.658 MTs (vs 7.390 MTs)
  • Raw Material for Steel Plants: 5.081 MTs (vs 4.630 MTs)
  • Iron Ore: 5.892 MTs (vs 3.750 MTs)
  • Containers: 2.547 MTs (vs 2.390 MTs)
  • POL (Petroleum, Oil & Lubricants): 1.23 MTs (vs 1.100 MTs)
  • Other Goods: 7.638 MTs (vs 7.48 MTs)
