In a significant achievement, the final track work on the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link was successfully completed, marking a major milestone in India's railway infrastructure. Rail Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw shared the news on X, highlighting the successful completion of ballast-less track work for the 3.2 km-long Tunnel T-33. This tunnel, located at the foothills of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, connects Katra to Reasi and plays a crucial role in enhancing rail connectivity in the region.
The track work was completed at 02:00 hrs on 13th December, 2024, bringing the project one step closer to its full operational potential. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and efforts of Indian Railways in transforming the region’s transportation network. The completion of the tunnel and track work will significantly improve connectivity, boost tourism, and foster economic growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
