Central Railway, RPF team, Chalisgaon, nabbed a hoax bomb message sender within 2 hours of receiving the hoax message.

On 09.12.2024, at about 21:16 hrs, the Police Control helpline No. 112 received a message from a mobile phone regarding a bomb at Chalisgaon railway station. The information was immediately conveyed to the RPF Post at 21:28 hrs.

A joint team of RPF and GRP thoroughly searched Chalisgaon railway station. The sniffer dog of the RPF Dog Squad from Manmad was also utilized. All platforms, from 1 to 4, were checked, and no bomb or incriminating articles were found. The information was immediately shared with the concerned officers.

Further investigation of the live location of the mobile phone revealed the details of the person and his location near the station. A police team from Jalgaon and the RPF Dog Squad from Manmad swung into action, and the suspect was nabbed at 23:20 hours.

The accused, Vikas Eknath Patil, who appeared to be mentally disturbed, confessed to having sent the hoax message. The City Police have registered a case under NC No. 1336/2024, dated 10.12.2024, against the accused.

Central Railway RPF and the City Police have once again demonstrated their alertness and quick investigative skills by solving the case in a time span of just 2 hours.
