With the objective of ensuring the safety of women and children and effectively curbing severe crimes like human trafficking, a special awareness program was successfully organized on  March 31, 2026, at Hotel Jaswant Vilas in Mundera, Prayagraj. This event was organized through the joint efforts of the National Commission for Women (NCW) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF), North Central Railway.

Several dignitaries and senior officials participated in this significant event. The prominent attendees included Ms. Babita Chauhan, Chairperson of the State Women Commission (SWC); Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmed Khan, Professor; Mr. Ajit Singh, Representative of Guria NGO; Mr. Rajneesh Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, Prayagraj; Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gupta, Principal Chief Security Commissioner of North Central Railway; along with the Chief Security Commissioner and the Senior Divisional Security Commissioner.

During the seminar, experts held detailed discussions on crucial aspects related to the identification of human trafficking, preventive measures, and the rescue and rehabilitation of victims. The speakers strongly emphasized that since traffickers frequently use public transport networks, maintaining vigilant surveillance of any suspicious activities inside railway stations and trains is absolutely essential.

To make this awareness campaign effective at the grassroots level, all sections of railway personnel who come into direct contact with passengers were included. The program witnessed the attendance of 160 RPF personnel, 24 GRP personnel, 25 Commercial Department staff members, 10 vendors, 8 porters, and 3 police personnel.

The primary objective of this program was to sensitize and raise awareness among all agencies and frontline workers, such as vendors, porters, and ticket-checking staff operating within railway premises, regarding incidents of human trafficking. Furthermore, a major goal of this initiative is to strengthen mutual coordination among various security agencies and railway departments to prevent this heinous crime.
