Visit to BLW: General Manager of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works Shri Mohit Chandra and Railway Board’s PED/EE/Development Shri Pankaj Sharma Conduct Inspection

On 11 March 2026, Shri Mohit Chandra, General Manager of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), and Shri Pankaj Sharma, PED/EE/Development, Railway Board, visited Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW). On this occasion, they were welcomed by senior officials under the leadership of BLW General Manager Shri Ashutosh Pant.

During their visit, both senior officials closely observed BLW’s production capacity and technological excellence while conducting a detailed inspection of the workshop. They toured various production units including the Loco Frame Shop, Loco Assembly Shop, and Loco Test Shop. They also reviewed the modern locomotive manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and the efficiency of the workforce. During the inspection, they appreciated the dedication and efficiency of the employees.

Following the workshop visit, a high-level meeting was held in the General Manager’s Conference Hall in the Administrative Building under the chairmanship of General Manager Shri Ashutosh Pant. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various aspects related to advanced technological innovations in locomotives, increasing production capacity, and further strengthening quality standards. Senior officials of BLW also shared important information regarding modernization of the production system and technological upgradation.

On this occasion, as a symbol of promoting environmental conservation and green initiatives, General Manager Shri Ashutosh Pant honoured Shri Mohit Chandra and Shri Pankaj Sharma by presenting them with saplings.

The meeting was attended by Principal Chief Electrical Engineer Shri Sushil Kumar Srivastava, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer Shri Vivek Sheel, Principal Chief Materials Manager Shri Alok Agrawal, Principal Financial Advisor Shri Muktesh Mittal, Principal Chief Engineer Shri Shailendra Kumar Singh, Inspector General-cum-Principal Chief Security Commissioner Shri Deoraj Kumar Maurya, Principal Chief Medical Officer Dr. Devesh Kumar,  along with other senior officials.

This visit is considered an important step towards promoting technical collaboration, innovation, and quality enhancement among the production units of Indian Railways.
