As part of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Celebrations,’ South Central Railway celebrated the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. An “Integrity Walkathon and Run for Unity” events marked as part of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week on 31st October, 2025 at Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad. This initiative reflects SCR’s dedication to fostering unity and integrity among its workforce.

Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He administered the Pledge and flagged-off the “Run for Unity Programme” and “Integrity Walkathon”. Shri Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, South Central Railway, Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, Shri Santosh Kumar Verma, Divisional Railway Managers, Secunderabad & Hyderabad Divisions respectively, Principal Heads of Departments, SCR were also present along with the Officials, Staff, RPF & Sports personnel who took part enthusiastically.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava emphasized the importance of utilizing time effectively, especially the morning hours, to cultivate discipline and purpose. He encouraged all employees to embody the values of unity and integrity in their daily work and interactions. His message resonated with the spirit of the day, inspiring attendees to uphold the ideals of public service and national cohesion.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed every year as a powerful reminder of India’s strength in diversity and the enduring legacy of Sardar Patel’s vision for a united India. Vigilance Awareness Week too is observed annually across government institutions, reinforcing the commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance, the General Manager added.

Later, Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager also administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge to officials & staff at SCR Hqrs Rail Nilayam in the spirit of unification and to honor the Iron Man Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision for a united India, marking the celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The twin events concluded with a sense of pride and renewed dedication among SCR to champion its initiatives that build a culture of unity, integrity, and excellence across its operations.
