Central Railway has reached a significant milestone in its mission to enhance rail safety by flagging off its 50th locomotive equipped with the KAVACH Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system. The event took place at the Electric Loco Shed in Kalyan, where General Manager Shri Dharam Veer Meena officially commissioned the WAP-7 locomotive (No. 37335).

KAVACH, India's indigenously developed safety system, is designed to prevent critical incidents such as Signal Passing At Danger (SPAD), overspeeding, and potential collisions. By automating train protection, the system significantly contributes to safer and more efficient train operations across the network.

The flagging-off ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Shri Anoop Kumar Agarwal (PCEE), Shri M. S. Uppal (PCSTE), and Shri Hiresh Meena (DRM, Mumbai), among others.

This achievement is part of a larger initiative by Central Railway to equip 730 of its locomotives with the KAVACH system, reinforcing its commitment to adopting advanced safety technologies for the benefit of all passengers.
