North Central Railway General Manager Releases e-book "Amrit on Wheels,"- A Chronicle of Railways' Efforts during Mahakumbh 2025

In a significant event organized on 26th August 2025 at NCR headquarter, Shri Upendra Chandra Joshi, General Manager of North Central Railway (NCR), officially released the e- coffee table book titled "Amrit on Wheels." Additional General Manager Shri J. S Lakra, all the Principal Heads of Department of NCR headquarter, other officers and officers and staff of Public Relations department were present on the occasion.

Published by the Public Relations Department of North Central Railway, the book provides a comprehensive look into the meticulous and large-scale preparations undertaken by the Indian Railways, particularly the NCR zone, for the successful organization of Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj.

"Amrit on Wheels" serves as an invaluable record of the monumental efforts made by the railway network to facilitate the movement of millions of pilgrims attending the world's largest religious congregation. The book documents the extensive infrastructural upgrades, the implementation of crowd management strategies, the running of thousands of special trains, and the enhancement of passenger amenities that were all part of the railways' contribution to the Mahakumbh 2025.

During the release event, Shri Upendra Chandra Joshi praised the collaborative spirit of the railway staff and the Public Relations Department for their dedication. "The successful conduct of Mahakumbh 2025 was a testament to the seamless coordination and tireless efforts of our entire team," said Shri Joshi. "This book, 'Amrit on Wheels,' is a tribute to that hard work. It not only highlights the technical and operational aspects of our preparations but also captures the spirit of service and devotion that guided us throughout this historic event."

The book's publication is a key part of the North Central Railway's commitment to transparency and public outreach. It aims to inform the public about the scale of operations and the challenges overcome to ensure a safe, comfortable, and memorable journey for every pilgrim.

The Public Relations Department, which spearheaded the book's publication, emphasized its role in preserving the history of this monumental undertaking. 'Amrit on Wheels' will serve as a reference for future large-scale events and a source of pride for everyone involved.

The e-book will be available for public viewing at the NCR website and is expected to be a valuable resource for railway professionals, historians, and anyone interested in the logistics of mega-events.
