Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board, Shri Satish Kumar, along with the General Manager of Western Railway, reviewed the progress of major ongoing rail projects in the Gujarat region, including Ahmedabad, during a meeting with senior officials on 25th August, 2025.

The review focused on three key areas—enhancing passenger amenities, expanding logistics capacity, and accelerating regional development. Shri Kumar stressed the importance of timely execution to deliver improved facilities for passengers and greater support for freight operations.

With Gujarat emerging as a vital hub for trade and travel, the advancement of these projects is expected to significantly boost regional connectivity and operational efficiency. The presence of the Western Railway leadership underscored the joint commitment to improving services and ensuring faster development.

Officials highlighted that better passenger facilities and enhanced logistics capacity will not only ease commuter travel but also strengthen the economic growth of Gujarat and neighboring states.
