In a significant boost to Bihar’s infrastructure, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated various development projects worth over ₹7,000 crore during a public programme in Motihari. The projects span key sectors, including railways and roadways, aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and improving public convenience.

In line with his vision of a future-ready railway network, the Prime Minister flagged off four Amrit Bharat Express trains connecting Rajendra Nagar Terminal–New Delhi, Bapudham Motihari–Anand Vihar Terminal (Delhi), Darbhanga–Lucknow (Gomti Nagar), and Malda Town–Lucknow via Bhagalpur. He also highlighted the direct train service from Motihari-Bapudham to Anand Vihar and the ongoing redevelopment of Motihari railway station.

Among the major projects, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Darbhanga–Narkatiaganj rail line doubling project worth ₹4,080 crore, expected to ease congestion and significantly improve regional rail traffic. He also launched critical works such as automatic signalling on the 114 km Bhatni–Chhapra Gramin section, traction system upgradation, and infrastructure for Vande Bharat train maintenance at Patliputra.

Additionally, the PM dedicated completed projects including the Samastipur–Bachhwara automatic signalling system and doubling of the Darbhanga–Thalwara and Samastipur–Rambhadrapur sections, totalling more than ₹580 crore in investments.

Reiterating the cultural and spiritual significance of the Champaran region, Shri Modi announced that the Ram-Janaki Path will pass through Sattarghat, Kesariya, Chakia, and Madhuban. He also proposed a new railway line from Sitamarhi to Ayodhya to facilitate easier pilgrimage for devotees.

The event witnessed the presence of Bihar Governor Shri Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar, and Union Ministers including Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, Shri Giriraj Singh, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Shri Chirag Paswan, Shri Ramnath Thakur, Shri Nityanand Rai, Shri Satish Chandra Dubey, and Dr. Raj Bhushan Choudhary.
