In a move aimed at enhancing passenger convenience, the East Coast Railway has launched budget-friendly sleeping pods at Visakhapatnam Railway Station. The facility includes 88 pod beds, with 18 beds reserved exclusively for women, ensuring safety and comfort for solo female travelers.

These pods are equipped with modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, hot water, charging points, and personal lighting, offering a hotel-like experience within the station premises. A dedicated travel desk is also available to assist passengers with local guidance and bookings.

The initiative is especially beneficial for travelers with overnight halts, delayed trains, or early-morning departures, offering them a safe and affordable resting space without leaving the station.

With this launch, Visakhapatnam Station takes a step toward becoming a modern, commuter-friendly transport hub, reflecting Indian Railways' commitment to upgrading passenger services.
