Indian Railways marked World Environment Day 2025 by reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability. A pledge focusing on the theme #BeatPlasticPollution and promoting sustainable practices was administered at the Railway Board level.

Member (Traction & Rolling Stock) led the pledge ceremony, which was attended by fellow Board Members and General Managers of all Zonal Railways through video conferencing. The event aimed to sensitize railway officials and employees towards minimizing plastic usage and integrating eco-friendly measures in railway operations.

Indian Railways continues to champion green initiatives such as electrification, energy efficiency, water conservation, and waste reduction, aligning with the Government of India's larger environmental goals.
