On 26.05.2025, General Manager North Central Railway Shri Upendra Chandra Joshi inspected the Electric Loco Trip Shed located near Platform No. 06 of Prayagraj Junction. During this, he inspected Loco No. 32309, which stood second in the cab competition held recently at Banaras Locomotive Works. Kanpur Locoshed's Loco No. 32309/WAG-9 won the second prize in the Loco Cab Modification Competition organized by Indian Railways at Banaras Locomotive Works on 24th May 2025. There were a total of 17 entries in this competition.

Electric Loco shed, Kanpur made several modifications in the driving cab of the locomotive in just 20 days. Some of the innovations made in this included Some of the innovations included motorised side windows, improvised blinders, improvised Kavach location, better quality seats( at par with vande bharat), seat for inspecting officials, automatic fire operation and detection systems. The officials from the Railway Board appreciated the innovations and enthusiastic performance of the Electric Loco Shed Kanpur.

This work was done at a modest cost of about Rs 20 lakh only. During this inspection, the General Manager also inspected the WAP-7 loco. During this, he especially took stock of the HLC winding and hotel load circuit.

On this occasion, in his address, the General Manager congratulated the team that made innovations in the locomotive and said that whatever changes are made should be user friendly. For this, along with the technology, changes should be made from time to time in consultation to the loco pilots who use them. He expressed hope that these innovations done by our loco shed will be approved by the Railway Board and it will prove to be convenient for the loco pilots from the point of view of safety and operation.

On this occasion, the Principal Heads of various departments of North Central Railway and Divisional Railway Manager Prayagraj along with other officers and employees were present. During this, the General Manager along with the head of department also planted saplings.
