The Vigilance Branch of South Central Railway organized a lecture on “Becoming CYBER BLACK BELT: Simple Cyber Hygiene Steps to Outsmart Cyber Criminals” on 19th March 2025 at the Rail Nilayam Auditorium, Secunderabad. This lecture is part of the “Fortify Lecture Series,” a capacity-building initiative by the Vigilance Branch. Shri Anish Prasad, IPS, Executive Director, Vigilance, Railway Board, was the keynote speaker and shared insights on cyber fraud networks and necessary precautions.
Shri Neeraj Agarwal, Additional General Manager, SCR, emphasized the importance of protecting data from cyber fraudsters and highlighted the necessity of password security to avoid misuse. He stressed that the session would be beneficial in enhancing participants’ knowledge of cyber resilience. Shri J. Vinayan, Sr. Deputy General Manager, SCR, also underscored the critical need for cybersecurity due to the increased use of the internet in all fields, including railway ticketing.
Shri Anish Prasad, with a B.Tech from IIT BHU, a Masters in Police Management, and a Chevening Cyber Security Fellowship from the UK's Defence Academy, has vast experience in cyber security. During his tenure at CBI, he developed SOPs for network security and supervised ICT projects. In his lecture, he covered topics such as the operation of mule accounts, digital arrests, protection from cyber attacks, cryptocurrencies and crime, the darknet, deep web, and cyber law. He also guided participants on maintaining cyber hygiene in personal lives and workplace data security.
This initiative, led by the SCR Vigilance department, prioritizes cyber security to protect sensitive data and maintain public trust, aiming to raise awareness and improve cybersecurity practices among officials and staff.
