Indian Railways has issued a clarification in response to misleading media reports claiming that passengers will be allowed to travel free of cost during the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela. The national transporter categorically denies these reports, stating they are baseless and entirely false.
Indian Railways emphasized that traveling without a valid ticket is a punishable offense, and there are no provisions for free travel during the Maha Kumbh Mela or any other event. Passengers are reminded to adhere to the established rules and regulations for safe and efficient travel.
To accommodate the expected surge of passengers, Indian Railways is making comprehensive arrangements. These include the setting up of special holding areas, additional ticket counters, and other essential facilities, ensuring seamless travel throughout the Maha Kumbh Mela.
