CONTINUOUS GROWTH IN SER’s FREIGHT LOADING

South Eastern Railway has loaded 138.84 million tonnes of originating freight in the first 8 months (i.e., April-November) of the current financial year 2024-25, which is 1.89% higher than the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

There has also been an increase of 3.03% in originating freight revenue in April-November 2024-25, in comparison to the same period of the last financial year. During April-November 2024, the revenue generated from originating freight loading was Rs 12,630.51 crore, as against Rs 12,266.53 crore during the same period of the previous year.

SER has loaded 36.46 million tonnes of coal during the above period, which is 6.61% more than the corresponding months of the last fiscal. Other major commodities of freight loading were iron ore, pig iron & finished steel, cement, food grains, fertilizers, etc.
