Shri Hitendra Malhotra, a veteran IRSEE officer from the 1987 batch, has been appointed as Member (Operations & Business Development), Railway Board. With over 35 years of service in Indian Railways, he has held significant roles, including General Manager of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) at Solapur, and Chief General Manager (Rolling Stock) at DMRC.

Shri Malhotra’s extensive experience spans key areas such as rolling stock management, operations, and maintenance. He has been instrumental in driving improvements at RDSO for self-generating coaches and has led critical projects across various divisions. An IIT Roorkee graduate, Shri Malhotra further enhanced his strategic leadership skills through training at the National Defence College.

His appointment is expected to accelerate Indian Railways' modernization efforts, driving operational excellence, enhancing business growth, and shaping the future of railway infrastructure.
