Shri V. Somanna, Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Railways, recently visited Raipur Railway Station to review the progress of its ongoing major upgradation works. The station is being transformed into a modern, state-of-the-art, and passenger-friendly facility, set to provide a much-enhanced travel experience.
The ₹440 crore project is aimed at upgrading the station’s infrastructure to cater to the growing passenger traffic and improve overall convenience. The planned changes include the construction of new platforms, modernized waiting areas, enhanced ticketing systems, improved sanitation facilities, and the installation of upgraded security measures. The focus is on making the station more accessible, comfortable, and efficient for travelers.
This ambitious upgradation project is set to be completed by 2027, and once finished, Raipur Railway Station will be equipped with world-class amenities, aligning with the vision to create modern transport hubs across India
