Shri Ajit Kumar Panda, an Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME) officer of the 1990 batch, has assumed charge as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) with effect from August 1, 2026. He succeeds Sanjay Swarup, who retired from the post on July 31, 2026.

Prior to his elevation, Panda was serving as Director (Projects & Services) at CONCOR. According to report he will hold the position until his superannuation.

An engineering alumnus, Panda holds a B.Sc from NIT Rourkela and an M.Tech from IIT Delhi. He brings extensive experience in logistics, infrastructure development and railway operations. During his tenure at CONCOR, he played a key role in launching several new business initiatives aimed at strengthening the company's multimodal logistics capabilities.

Before joining CONCOR's top leadership, he served as Executive Director at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), Director at the Railway Board, and held various other positions in Indian Railways.
