In a significant step toward enhancing tourism and public convenience, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) today. This partnership will enable the sale of tickets to ASI-managed monuments via DMRC’s ‘Momentum 2.0 Delhi Sarthi-सारथी’ mobile application, creating a seamless, unified platform for purchasing both metro and monument tickets.
The MoU was formalized in the presence of Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC, and Sh. Anand Madhukar, Additional Director General (Admin), ASI. As part of this collaboration, an integrated QR-based ticketing system will be developed, ensuring smooth access to Delhi Metro services and selected centrally protected monuments.
Promoting Delhi's Cultural Heritage
Beyond ticketing, the partnership seeks to spotlight Delhi's cultural richness. Joint efforts, including public campaigns, events, and digital initiatives, will promote historical sites while elevating the tourism experience in the National Capital Region (NCR). DMRC will also provide dedicated spaces at metro stations for ASI signages and standees that highlight the history of monuments, fostering greater awareness among commuters and tourists.
A World-Class Experience for Visitors
This initiative, designed to streamline travel and tourism, aligns with DMRC’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions for commuters. Tourists and the public will now enjoy hassle-free access to metro travel and cultural exploration through a single, integrated app.
With this collaboration, DMRC and ASI aim to offer an elevated travel and tourism experience, setting a benchmark for urban connectivity and cultural accessibility.
