Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) has signed a landmark ₹13,527 crore term loan agreement with L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited and Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited for refinancing the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, marking one of India’s largest urban transit refinancing transactions.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Manoj Kumar Dubey, K Ramakrishna Rao, Sarfaraz Ahmad, Randhir Sahay, and Deepa Kotnis, along with senior officials from IRFC, HMRL and L&TMRHL.
Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-I spans 69.2 km across three corridors with 57 stations and is among the world’s largest metro rail projects developed under the PPP model. The network currently handles over 5 lakh passenger journeys daily.
