Ashoka Buildcon Limited has secured a major contract worth ₹499.95 crore (including GST) for significant railway electrification work in the Jaipur Division. This pivotal project aims to modernize the existing infrastructure to support higher train speeds.
The contract involves the comprehensive design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of an advanced 2x25 kV traction system. This represents a substantial upgrade from the current 1x25 kV network. The scope also includes necessary modifications to the overhead equipment to facilitate the enhanced power supply.
The primary goal of this modernization is to enable trains to operate at speeds of up to 160 kmph across various sections of the Jaipur Division. This upgrade is set to drastically improve travel times and enhance the efficiency of railway operations in the region.
Ashoka Buildcon Limited is slated to complete the entire project within a 24-month timeframe, marking a significant step forward in India's mission to upgrade its railway infrastructure.
