DMRC and UITP Organize Advanced Training on Metro Operations & Maintenance

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), in partnership with the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), successfully concluded a landmark three-day training program on "Advanced Metro Operations and Maintenance" from May 19 to 21 at the DMRC Academy, Shastri Park.

This first-of-its-kind initiative brought together leading national and international experts to share advanced knowledge and global best practices in metro operations. The program focused on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, IoT, and Machine Learning, aiming to enhance innovation, efficiency, and safety in urban rail systems.

Inaugurated by Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, along with Mr. Manuj Singhal, Director (Infrastructure), and Ms. Rupa Nandy, Head of UITP India, the event was hailed as a milestone in promoting intelligent urban mobility. “This collaboration with UITP underlines DMRC’s commitment to sustainable and cutting-edge transit solutions,” said Dr. Kumar.

Key topics included predictive maintenance, digital twins, project management, green initiatives, and cybersecurity. Participants also gained hands-on exposure through site visits to control centers, depots, and metro facilities, bridging theory with practical insights.
