In a major step towards enhancing rail safety and freight operations, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, and IISc-incubated startup L2MRail.

The agreement, signed by DFCCIL Managing Director Shri Praveen Kumar, IISc Director Prof. Govindan Rangarajan, and representatives of L2MRail, focuses on the indigenous development of 'Broken Rail Detection Technology.'

This innovative technology aims to detect rail faults and fractures in real time, issuing immediate alerts to prevent accidents and ensure the smooth operation of freight trains. The collaboration reflects a significant move towards strengthening the health monitoring system of India's dedicated freight corridors through advanced, homegrown solutions.
