RITES Limited, a premier transport infrastructure consultancy and engineering firm, has signed a transformative Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DP World, a global leader in smart end-to-end supply chain logistics, to explore collaborative opportunities in trade, logistics, and infrastructure development. The MoU aims to facilitate mutual cooperation in developing key infrastructure such as ports, multimodal logistics parks, free trade zones, rail connectivity projects, and logistics infrastructure services.

The MoU was signed on April 8, 2025, during the 'CEO-Connect: Dubai-India Economic Ties & Opportunities' event in Mumbai. The signing took place in the distinguished presence of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE; Shri Piyush Goyal, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India; His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World; and Shri Rahul Mithal, Chairman & Managing Director of RITES Limited, along with other esteemed dignitaries.

The partnership aligns with the objectives of the Virtual Trade Corridor (VTC), launched in September 2024 and supported by MAITRI, a digital platform being developed with RITES. The VTC streamlines customs, logistics, and regulatory processes into a unified digital system to enhance trade efficiency between India and the UAE. Strategic workshops since its launch have advanced the development of the VTC proof of concept through key ports including Nhava Sheva, Deendayal, and Jebel Ali.

Mr. Rahul Mithal remarked, “This alliance brings together legacy, expertise, and vision to expand ‘RITES Videsh’ globally.” Mr. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem added, “This collaboration will create resilient, innovative trade routes and unlock new opportunities for both nations.”
