In a significant step towards shaping the future of sustainable and efficient public transport, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) co-hosted the prestigious UITP (International Association of Public Transport) Transport Economics & Finance Committee meetings in New Delhi. Over 40 global experts from various fields of transportation, economics, and finance gathered to discuss key issues shaping the future of public transport systems worldwide.
The meetings revolved around pressing topics such as sustainable mobility, ensuring affordable transport fares, and exploring innovative financing solutions. Public-private partnerships also emerged as a focal point, with experts emphasizing their potential to drive transformation in the transportation sector.
A highlight of the event was a site visit to the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor, offering attendees firsthand insight into India’s ambitious infrastructure project. This state-of-the-art transit system is expected to revolutionize connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR) by offering high-speed, efficient transportation options that will significantly reduce travel times
